EMPLOYEE EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE FUND
GUIDELINES 1) Would
pay $250.00 per incident. (Adjusted to $300.00) (Immediate family members in the same household) 2) Would only cover employees’ at the Wickliffe mill. {Both hourly
& salary employees} 3) Would cover natural disasters.
(Fire to home, earthquake, flood, tornado all
of which causes
unlivable conditions to the home.) 4) Emergency Medical Issues: Causes the employee to lose at least 3 or more scheduled days of work.
Travel to other medical facilities.
(Employee or immediate family member in same house-
hold, must be hospitalized 3 or more days to be eligible.)
Suggestions for Fund Raisers. 1) Set up collection boxes in all canteens
in the mill.
{Collection boxes have been made and installed in the canteens across the mill. If you have any spare change EVEN PENNIES throw them in the boxes.}
2) Raffles: See if the company could donate. raffle off a gun of some type. {Company has agreed to
donating items to help out}
3) Have
a 1 time sign-up maybe in Feb. of $ 25 for the whole year. This would reduce the need
to have a lot of raffles throughout the year.
6) We are going
to make a motion at the Union meeting for a donation to the fund.
{Motion was made and passed to donate}
UPDATES The collection of cans around the mill has been a
very good success. Some of the problems that the committee is having: people dropping in cans that are still half full. These
cans MUST be empty.
The company which the cans are being taken to has been deducting for the cans not being empty. This could be more money in
the account instead of not getting full amount for the cans.
Secondly, people have been throwing trash in the same containers as the cans, which also creates a deduction.
The more money we have in the account means more employees we can help out.
If you know of someone who falls into any of the guidelines above please contact
one of the committee members listed here: Sandra Wilson (Management), Glenda Deweese (Paper Machine), Larry Alexander (Oiler),
Donna Otey (Super Cal./Winder), Kelly Laird (P&R), David Bramlett (P&R), or one of the Executive Board Memebers.
If you would like to help out on the committee you can contact one of
the committee members listed above. We invite everyone to get involved.
We are also in the process of trying to get someone from each department to take the cans (when full)
to the stores drop stations in your area. This will make it much easier and quicker for picking up the cans. Once this
is established all that will need to happen is to contact Sandra Wilson
and she can arrange pickup. We would greatly appreciate the help.
